  	He was listed in his father's obituary in 1934 that he was living in Minnesota. In 1935 during his father's probate, his brother Emil made the statement that Herman died more than 7 years ago which would have put his death about 1928 or before.. Evidence points to him possibly getting married and moving to California in 1927. Jones being a common name it is difficult to determine at this point which is the correct death date.

  	Herman's father obituary states that Herman was still alive and living in Minnesota in 1934. However, when obtaining the deed for the homestead, Emil Jonas filed court documents stating this: In the matter of the estate of: Herman Jonas "Herman Jonas, a resident of the city of Bermidji, Beltramic County, Minnesota died intestate more than seven years ago at a place unknown to said Emil Jonas; as he is informed leaving an estate to be administered in said county of Manitowoc, Wisconsin." Manitowoc County. April 1935 Seven years prior to 1934 would have been 1928 or before. Based on evidence found, it is possible that Herman did not die, instead he moved to California in 1928. Below is what I believe to be his obituary, although not proven. Herman John Jones Funeral Arrangements are being completed by the Brusie Funeral Home for Herman John Jones, who died at his home on East Third Street this morning. Mr. Jones was born in Wisconsin on December 21, 1885, and spent his early childhood there, moving to Minnesota later where he resided for a number of years. In 1914 he and Emma Daisy Bates were married. In 1927 they moved to Los Angeles where they made their home until they moved to Chico in 1948 to be near their daughter, Mrs. Louise Jordan. Mr. Jones, whose wife preceded him in death in 1957, is survived by Mrs. Jordan, six grandchildren, including Mrs. Frances Hymes of San Francisco, and four great-grandchildren.
