Fees & Payments

Fees

If you need genealogy assistance please contact us. After approval of your family project we will send you an estimate of our charges. Basic genealogy lookups are a flat fee and we ask for payment of fees up front. For intermediate and advanced searches we ask for a retainer. The retainer is based on the total expected project cost but is either 50% down, and 50% plus expenses on completion or for larger projects, 35% down, 35% 30 days later, and 30% plus expenses upon completion of project.

Our fees are per hour, plus costs such as photocopy fees, postage, microfilm rental, parking, entrance fees to research facilities, etc. We charge for travel one way for local requests. For repositories more than 50 miles we reserve the right to charge for travel both ways.

All fees and expenses are payable in full before the completed project is delivered.

Upon completion of the research project you will receive an overview of what was found and a final invoice. Upon payment you will receive a comprehensive genealogy report which will include:

  • The findings
  • The sources searched
  • What was found or not found
  • One photocopy or abstract of the official records found if required. (If you need more than one copy please state that prior to starting the project)
  • If I do not find the item requested, you will receive a copy of the first page of the newspaper or page in the index to show that I did check the records requested.

Payments
Payment can be made by cash, check, money order or by credit card using Paypal. Checks will be held for clearing before sending out reports unless you are a returning client. If you are paying by Paypal, you can submit your payment by using the form below.
