  	Raymond J. "Shorty" Schimmel Raymond J. "Shorty" Schimmel, age 82, of 2401 Polk St., Two Rivers, a former Mishicot resident, died Thursday, Sept. 13, 2001 at the Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2001 at the Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum in the town of Kossuth, with the Rev. Roberta Thomson officiating entombment in the Knollwood Mausoleum. Ray was born Sept. 3, 1919 in Mishicot, to the late John and Julia Rockwell Schimmel and has been a lifelong area resident. He married the former Arlene Rahmlow Aug. 22, 1964 and she preceded him in death on Sept. 27, 1981. Ray owned and operated Ray's Shoe Shop in Mishicot, for many years and was also employed by the Hamilton Manufacturing Company. He was a former member of Zion United Methodist Church in Mishicot, and was currently a member of Emanuel United Methodist Church in Two Rivers, where he served as a member of the Staff Parish Committee. He worked in the kitchen at the Two Rivers Senior Center for 10 years and enjoyed playing in the Senior Center Kitchen Band. Ray is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law: Robert and Millie Schimmel of Francis Creek; John and Janice Schimmel of Pennsylvania; two sisters: Edith Becker of Two Rivers; and Jennette Klein of Green Bay; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law with the Rahmlow family, nieces, nephews and a special family friend, Wesley Coenen of Two Rivers. He was also preceded in death by three sisters: Rosemond Redeker, Fern Burst and Bernice Becker. Relatives and friends may call after 9 a.m. on Saturday at the Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum in the town of Kossuth until the time of services at 10:30 a.m. There will be no Friday night visitation. A memorial fund has been established for the Two Rivers Senior Center and for Emanuel United Methodist Church of Two Rivers. The Lambert Funeral Home of Mishicot, is assisting the Schimmel family with funeral arrangements. Herald Times Reporter Sept. 14, 2001
